From Sticks to Scarecrows – the Winners
The Winners of the Long Grove Park District’s Scarecrow Creation Contest
A bit of chaos was the norm at the Long Grove Park District’s annual Scarecrow Creation event on October 10 as more than 75 people, from toddlers to grandparents, designed and crafted scarecrows. Starting with “skeletons” and “heads” provided by the Park District, the families stuffed, drew, glued, pinned, and stapled until their creation took life in front of them. The families then took their creation home to brighten up their Halloween season decor.
Winners:
- Kangail family – Colorful Fall Fashion
- Leopoldi–Nichols family – Mustache to Remember
- Kadens family – The Black Hat
- Costabile family – Lady in Blue
- Kassulat family – Hockey Anyone?
- Mower family – Remembering Grandpa
Congratulations to all of the winners – and thanks to all of the entrants for making the event a fun day for everyone.
Special thanks to Whole Foods of Kildeer, which graciously provided refreshments and prize winners’ gift bags.
