Santa Visits Reed-Turner so Bring the Family

Santa  Schedules a Visit – Get Your Wish List Ready!

Santa with young boy and momOnce again Santa has agreed to squeeze in a visit at the Reed-Turner Nature Center during his busy December.  He will stop by on Sunday, December 10, from 1:00 to 3:00.  We’ll have the Nature Center decorated for the season to make him feel at home and to help all of our visitors get into the holiday spirit.

Everyone is welcome to come and visit with Santa.  He encourages families to bring three things:

  • 1. Your Christmas wish list (typically younger visitors bring a list but we have seen Grandma and Grandpa sneak in with their own).
  • 2. A new unwrapped toy to help some needy children have a happy Christmas morning.
  • 3. Your camera to capture the moments with Santa and your family.

girld-checking-out-santaSome children are a bit nervous about Santa – as is the one in the photo, who is checking out Santa from a safe vantage point.  The afternoon includes a craft corner with holiday themed projects for the younger set which all enjoy and which gives some of the nervous ones a chance to relax before having a chat with Santa.  There are also snacks for kids, mom, dad, and grandparents (and sometimes even great grandparents).  This annual event is a family tradition with many of our guests.  Come and make the event and the pictures you take one of your favorite memories of the Christmas season.

There is no charge for the event, courtesy of the Long Grove Park District.

Santa will be at the Reed-Turner Nature Center, 3849 Old McHenry Rd. in Long Grove.  We hope to see you there.  No reservations are necessary.  Contact the Long Grove Park District at 847-438-4743 if you have any questions.
