Family Book Club- Wishes Do Come True

The next Family Book Club meeting is on April 11.

This meeting’s book is “The Wish Tree” by Katherine Applegate.  The warm, funny and important book is written from a red oak tree’s point of view. Red (for those interested, the scientific name is Quercus rubra, but that is just not as catchy a name as “Red”) becomes a wish tree where wishes are placed by hopeful people. When a new family moves into the neighborhood, not everyone is welcoming or happy. Red decides to break a rule and tell a story that might be of some help to this new family. The book has it all – friendship, acceptance, wisdom, and a good plot.

Join leaders Michelle Schumer and Beth McCullough and other Club participants on Wednesday, April 11th at 6:15 p.m. for fun activities related to this book. Make sure you read this book with your family before you come to our fun and interactive club.  This is a family event – a parent must accompany the children.

If you had one wish to tie on Red, what would it be? Bring your idea to our club.
