White, yellow and orange belts. This program meets two days a week to introduce our youngest students to taekwondo. It is designed to teach children how to build a strong, healthy body and provides the foundational elements for improved motor skills, better ability to pay attention and follow directions, practice courtesy and discipline and gain self-confidence. Green, purple and blue belts. This program meets two days a week for our youngest students to build upon their taekwondo skills. It is designed to teach children how to build a strong, healthy body and provides the foundational elements for improved motor skills, better ability to pay attention and follow directions, practice courtesy and discipline and gain self-confidence. Instructed by Ong Taekwondo Academy.

This program reinforces the basic components of taekwondo to children. Class meets twice a week. It is designed to introduce the art of taekwondo to children by instilling the five ancient tenets of taekwondo in them as a way of life; courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. This program provides the foundation for physical and psychological training; increasing their strength, fitness, flexibility, confidence, focus and discipline. Instructed by Ong Taekwondo Academy.

CheckMates Chess Academy focuses on teaching students of ALL SKILL LEVELS. Our unique curriculum makes learning chess fun and classes entertaining. For kids, chess is a game, an educational tool, and a great way to bond with family! We invite your children to enjoy this timeless game with us. We will be exploring chess tactics such as thinking ahead, correct positioning, and controlling the board while playing many chess related games like “Take Me” and “Crazy Queen!” Students will learn new strategies as well as ways to apply them to their everyday lives. Studies have shown that skills like concentrating, focusing, and weighing consequences are very beneficial for kids to learn, especially in a fun game like chess. The last day of class we will have an intra-class tournament, complete with PRIZES for all those who participate!

Every child should experience the world’s most popular game in a way that will put the “fun” in fundamental. All the necessary skills will be covered that will enhance their confidence and prepare them for future play. Dribbling, passing, shooting and teamwork will be priorities during every class. Session #4: Software Engineering: Scratch Video Sensing. What’s more fun than playing an interactive video game? Writing one! Video sensing allows students to design and program their own video games and then test them by interacting with the program via webcam. In this Scratch program, students work together to create their own games, art and musical instruments while exploring coding foundations. Get up and get moving with Engineering for Kids and Scratch: Video Sensing! Minimum 8 students/max 20

This class helps develop balance and improve concentration while staying fit. Our fun and informative fencing classes teach students the basics from beginner to expert. Students can continue to improve by signing up for multiple classes. Safety is stressed and each participant handles a foil in every session. Students will learn moves and strategies that create the foundation for their fencing game. Each class features instructions and competition. All equipment provided. Class is instructed by Tracy Lapshin.

This class is for those who have never played pickleball before or who have very limited experience with the sport. It will focus on pickleball basics such as forehand and backhand shots, serving and court positioning. Players will also learn scoring and the rules of the game through drills and playing time. The slower pace of this class will give players the opportunity to develop the skills needed to play this fun and energetic game. All equipment will be provided. Led by SportsKids, Inc.

This class is for advancing beginners who have some experience and want to move at a faster pace to improve their basic shots and strategy. Players will participate in challenging drills to work on consistency in forehand and backhand shots, serving, volleying, dinks and lobs. Through matches played each week, players will get the chance to take their game to the next level by learning how to play smarter, not harder. All equipment will be provided. Ages 7-12. Learn the proper way to perform rolls, cartwheels, backbends, handstands, walkovers and other tumbling tricks. Youngsters also learn rhythmic gymnastics body elements, jumps, turns and leaps as well as techniques with apparatus like hoops, balls, ribbons and jump ropes. Kids improve flexibility, gain strength and develop coordination, all of which helps them in any sport. Start out learning the proper way to perform rolls, handstands and cartwheels. This class is a great introduction to tumbling and it opens the door to gymnastics possibilities. Led by SportsKids Inc.
